How it works

1. Cast Chain of Smog by paying 1, targeting yourself.
2. Karok Wrangler triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control.
3. Resolve Chain of Smog, causing you to discard two cards and copy Chain of Smog, targeting yourself.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop is ignited by casting Chain of Smog and aiming its discard ability directly at yourself, which sounds counterproductive until you realize it's a self-sustaining copy engine. Because the spell allows you to copy itself upon resolution and you are a legal target for that copy, you can endlessly re-target your own spell to perpetually trigger its own replication. Meanwhile, Karok Wrangler sits on your battlefield utilizing its magecraft ability to capitalize on every single cast and copy, growing infinitely large with +1/+1 counters as the Chain of Smog repeats.
