How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Pearl Medallion.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Ajani's Welcome triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Ajani's Welcome trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Ajani's Welcome trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns the gentle kitty Whitemane Lion into an endless engine of life and troops by casting it over and over for free. With Pearl Medallion shaving off generic mana and Defiler of Faith reducing the remaining white mana by paying 2 life, you can repeatedly cast the Lion for zero mana. Each time it arrives, Defiler of Faith rewards your white permanent spell with a 1/1 Soldier token, which in turn triggers Ajani's Welcome to continually refill your life total. Finally, Whitemane Lion's own entry trigger bounces itself right back to your hand, resetting the stage so you can cast it again and fuel your storm count infinitely.
