How it works

1. Activate Agonasaur Rex's cycling ability by paying 2 and discarding it.
2. Agonasaur Rex triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on Evolution Witness.
3. Evolution Witness triggers, returning Agonasaur Rex from your graveyard to your hand.
4. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, and then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
5. Resolve the Agonasaur Rex ability from step 1, causing you to draw a card.
6. Activate the Plant by tapping it, adding .
7. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the tapped Plant, adding CC.
8. Repeat.

This elegant recycling engine uses Evolution Witness as the recurring heartbeat, bringing back Agonasaur Rex to hand every time it receives +1/+1 counters from the dinosaur's cycling trigger. While you cycle Agonasaur Rex to fuel this loop, Insidious Roots watches creature cards leave your graveyard to continuously spawn 0/1 Plant tokens that gain haste from Rising of the Day. You can then tap those Plants for mana and feed them directly into Ashnod's Altar to generate the exact {2}{G} needed to keep the cycle spinning infinitely—while drawing your entire deck in the process.
