How it works

  1. If Runaway Steam-Kin has three or more +1/+1 counters on it, activate it by removing three +1/+1 counters from it, adding R manaR manaR mana.
  2. Cast Spear Spewer by paying R mana.
  3. Runaway Steam-Kin triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
  4. Activate Spear Spewer by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to each player.
  5. Dissipation Field triggers, returning Spear Spewer from the battlefield to your hand.
  6. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms a humble defender into a self-sustaining damage engine by turning Dissipation Field's self-bounce penalty into an advantage. Because Rising of the Day grants haste to your creatures, you can recast the freshly-returned Spear Spewer for a single red mana immediately after it bounces itself off your opponent's face. Every time you recast that little goblin, Runaway Steam-Kin dutifully triggers to regain a +1/+1 counter, storing up the exact red mana you need to fuel the next iteration. Once Runaway Steam-Kin reaches three counters, you simply cash them in for three red mana, keeping the loop spinning indefinitely to burn out the table.
