How it works

1. Activate the Spider with Thornbite Staff and Lavamancer's Skill attached by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to a creature an opponent controls and destroying it due to the Spider's deathtouch.
2. When the creature dies, Shelob and the Spider tapped in step 1 trigger.
3. Resolve the Shelob trigger, creating a token copy of the creature that died that is a Food artifact.
4. Resolve the Spider trigger, untapping it.
5. Repeat as desired. You can also repeat this loop whenever a creature enters the battlefield under an opponent's control.

This ingenious loop turns Shelob, Child of Ungoliant into an absolute nightmare for your opponents by weaponizing her death-triggering replacement effect. By equipping her with both Thornbite Staff and Lavamancer's Skill, she gains the ability to ping targets directly; thanks to her native deathtouch, that single point of damage is enough to legally destroy any creature she targets. Whenever that happens, Thornbite Staff immediately untaps her in response to the death, while Shelob preserves the fallen foe by baking it into a lifeless Food artifact copy. The result is a total battlefield lock that effortlessly clears out every creature your opponents control and continuously intercepts anything new they try to cast.
