How it works

1. Cast Strength of Will by paying 1, targeting Walking Ballista.
2. Activate Walking Ballista by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to it.
3. Walking Ballista triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on it due to Vorinclex.
4. Activate Walking Ballista by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to any target.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop transforms Walking Ballista's own ammunition into a self-sustaining engine, protected all the while by Strength of Will granting the construct indestructible. As you ping Walking Ballista with its own ability, it takes damage and triggers Strength of Will to add a +1/+1 counter back, which is immediately doubled into two counters thanks to the amplifier effect of Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. This leaves you with a net gain of counters on the Ballista, allowing you to continually siphon off excess damage to any target while keeping your mechanical core growing ever larger.
