How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Pearl Medallion.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Auriok Champion triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Auriok Champion trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Auriok Champion trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Whitemane Lion into a zero-mana engine by leaning on cost reducers and life payments. With Defiler of Faith slashing the white mana requirement while simultaneously spawning a 1/1 Soldier creature token upon casting, and Pearl Medallion shaving off the generic mana, the Lion can be recast for free at the cost of 2 life. Every time a token or creature enters the battlefield, Auriok Champion triggers to pad your life total and comfortably offset that self-inflicted life loss. Finally, Whitemane Lion's own entry trigger forces it right back to your hand, resetting the loop for infinite storm count, creature triggers, and an endless army of soldiers.
