How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Pearl Medallion.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Kambal triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Kambal trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Kambal trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

By combining the cost-reduction powers of Defiler of Faith and Pearl Medallion, you can cast Whitemane Lion entirely for free by paying 2 life instead of its mana cost. Each time the Lion is cast, Defiler of Faith triggers to create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token, which in turn causes Kambal, Profiteering Mayor to drain your opponents and gain you life. When Whitemane Lion finally enters the battlefield, its own entry trigger forces you to bounce it right back to your hand, allowing you to loop the entire process endlessly for infinite enter-the-battlefield triggers, token generation, and life drain.
