Infinite colorless mana

How it works

  1. At the beginning of combat, Workshop Elders triggers, making Basalt Monolith a 0/0 artifact creature until end of turn and putting four +1/+1 counters on it.
  2. Activate Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC.
  3. Activate Basalt Monolith's last ability by paying 1, untapping it.
  4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a simple untap puzzle into an infinite mana engine by transforming our primary artifact into a creature. Workshop Elders kicks things off right at the beginning of combat by animating Basalt Monolith into a 0/0 artifact creature and bolstering it with four +1/+1 counters, which also neatly grants it flying thanks to the Elders' static ability. Normally, Basalt Monolith's untap ability costs three mana, leaving you mana-neutral when you tap it for three colorless. Enter Biomancer's Familiar, whose passive ability reduces the activation cost of that untap ability by {2} down to just {1} mana. With the cost slashed, tapping the Monolith for three and paying one to untap it generates a net gain of two colorless mana every iteration, fueling infinite colorless mana for your spells and abilities.
