How it works

1. Activate Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC.
2. Activate Basalt Monolith's last ability by paying 1, untapping it.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on transforming your artifacts into creatures with March of the Machines, turning Basalt Monolith into an animate artifact creature with a mana value of 3. That creature transformation is the key that lets Biomancer's Familiar apply its cost-reduction ability to Basalt Monolith, lowering its untap activation cost from three mana down to just one. Because tapping the Monolith generates three colorless mana while untapping it now costs only one, you are left with a net gain of two colorless mana with every iteration, easily churning out infinite colorless mana.
