How it works

1. Activate Tawnos's second ability by paying 1, tapping it and sacrificing two artifact tokens, exiling Deceiver Exarch from your graveyard and creating a token copy of it that is an artifact in addition to its other types.
2. When the Deceiver Exarch token enters, it triggers, untapping Tawnos.
3. Activate Tawnos's first ability by paying 2 and tapping it, creating a copy of the Deceiver Exarch token and causing you to mill two cards.
4. When the Deceiver Exarch token enters, it triggers, untapping Tawnos.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Deceiver Exarch token, adding CC.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop turns Tawnos, Solemn Survivor into a tireless engine for copying creatures by bridging the gap between your graveyard and the battlefield. Once you jump-start the chain by exiling Deceiver Exarch to bring back an artifact copy of it, every new arrival untaps Tawnos so you can keep cloning it with its first ability. Meanwhile, Ashnod's Altar provides the crucial mana generation and sacrifice outlet needed to fuel the repetition, letting you churn through your library and trigger infinite enters-the-battlefield effects.
