How it works

1. Activate Tawnos's second ability by paying 1, tapping it and sacrificing two artifact tokens, exiling Bounding Krasis from your graveyard and creating a token copy of it that is an artifact in addition to its other types.
2. When the Bounding Krasis token enters, it triggers, untapping Tawnos.
3. Activate Tawnos's first ability by paying 2 and tapping it, creating a copy of the Bounding Krasis token and causing you to mill two cards.
4. When the Bounding Krasis token enters, it triggers, untapping Tawnos.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Bounding Krasis token, adding CC.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This intricate loop transforms Tawnos, Solemn Survivor into a relentless copy machine by paying its hefty mana cost just once to kickstart the engine. Once the initial Bounding Krasis token is resurrected from the graveyard, its entering-the-battlefield trigger keeps untapping Tawnos so you can endlessly replicate that token using Tawnos's first ability. Ashnod's Altar then provides the necessary sacrifice outlet to feed the loop, turning spare Bounding Krasis tokens into the colorless mana needed to fund the duplication process while fueling your graveyard with Tawnos's self-mill.
