How it works

1. Activate Tawnos's second ability by paying 1, tapping it and sacrificing two artifact tokens, exiling Sparring Mummy from your graveyard and creating a token copy of it that is an artifact in addition to its other types.
2. When the Sparring Mummy token enters, it triggers, untapping Tawnos.
3. Activate Tawnos's first ability by paying 2 and tapping it, creating a copy of the Sparring Mummy token and causing you to mill two cards.
4. When the Sparring Mummy token enters, it triggers, untapping Tawnos.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Sparring Mummy token, adding CC.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This intricate loop relies on Tawnos, Solemn Survivor acting as the ultimate forge, using its second ability to pull Sparring Mummy straight from your graveyard as a fresh artifact copy. Every time the mummy enters the battlefield, its triggered ability untaps Tawnos, leaving the artificer ready to churn out more copies using its first ability. Ashnod's Altar provides the crucial engine grease by converting your surplus mummy tokens into the colorless mana needed to fund those activations, while feeding the cycle of sacrifices.
