How it works

1. At the beginning of your upkeep, Court of Embereth triggers.
2. Holding priority, cast Storm Herd by paying 8, creating a number of 1/1 Pegasus creature tokens equal to your life total.
3. Resolve the Court of Embereth trigger, creating a 3/1 Knight creature token, then dealing damage to each opponent equal to the number of creatures you control.
4. Each opponent whose life total is less than or equal to the number of creatures you control loses the game due to having 0 or less life.

This cunning maneuver relies on Vedalken Orrery to completely shatter the timing restrictions of your turn, allowing you to cast sorceries as though they had flash. By responding to the upkeep trigger of Court of Embereth—which normally just makes a humble 3/1 red Knight creature token and checks if you are the monarch—you flash in Storm Herd. The massive influx of 1/1 white Pegasus creature tokens scales directly with your life total, ballooning your board presence instantly. When the original Court of Embereth trigger finally resolves, it tallies up this newly fortified army of creatures to deal lethal damage to each opponent, securing total victory.
