How it works

1. Cast Wild Dogs from your hand or graveyard by paying .
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Wild Dogs, adding .
3. If Wild Dogs was cast from your graveyard, Wild Dogs is not exiled by Abandoned Sarcophagus due to Overwhelming Splendor removing Wild Dogs's cycling ability.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Wild Dogs into a recurring sacrifice engine by using Abandoned Sarcophagus to repeatedly cast it from your graveyard for a single green mana, which is then refunded by sacrificing it to Phyrexian Altar. Normally, the replacement effect on Abandoned Sarcophagus would permanently exile Wild Dogs the moment it hits the graveyard unless it was actively cycled. However, Overwhelming Splendor neatly turns off the cycling ability entirely, bypassing that restriction and allowing the dog to safely return to the graveyard over and over again.
