How it works

1. Activate Mite Overseer by paying 3W/P, creating two creature tokens.
2. When the creature tokens enter the battlefield, Lunarch Veteran triggers twice if it's on the battlefield, causing you to gain 2 life.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the creature tokens, adding CCCC.
4. When the creature tokens die, Luminous Phantom triggers twice if it's on the battlefield, causing you to gain 2 life.
5. Repeat.

This engine turns life-payment into an endlessly self-sustaining loop by leveraging the token-doubling replacement effect of Chatterfang, Squirrel General. Whenever you activate Mite Overseer, Chatterfang ensures you get an army of Phyrexian Mites and Squirrels instead of just one token, providing the fodder needed to fuel Ashnod's Altar for more than enough colorless mana to repeat the process. Meanwhile, Lunarch Veteran acts as a perpetual motion machine for your life total, triggering twice each time your tokens enter and twice again when they leave the battlefield as you feed them to the Altar.
