How it works

1. Cast Lunarch Veteran from your graveyard for its disturb cost by paying 2, causing it to enter the battlefield transformed as Luminous Phantom.
2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Luminous Phantom, adding 2.
3. Because Overwhelming Splendor causes Luminous Phantom to lose all abilities, it is not exiled when it is sacrificed, and is returned to your graveyard as Lunarch Veteran.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a rules interaction into an infinite engine, fueled entirely by the graveyard-recursion side of Lunarch Veteran // Luminous Phantom. While Ashnod's Altar provides the sacrifice outlet to generate mana, Mycosynth Lattice and Overwhelming Splendor work together to rewrite reality: Overwhelming Splendor strips Luminous Phantom of its abilities—specifically its replacement effect that would normally exile it—allowing it to safely return to the graveyard as Lunarch Veteran, ready to be recast using its disturb cost.
