How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Golgari Thug, adding one mana of any color.
2. When Golgari Thug dies, it and Liliana trigger.
3. Resolve the Golgari Thug trigger, putting it on top of your library from your graveyard.
4. Resolve the Liliana trigger, causing you to draw Golgari Thug from the top of your library.
5. Cast Golgari Thug by paying 0 due to Aluren.
6. Repeat.

This engine is a masterclass in recycling, using Aluren to bypass mana costs entirely so that Golgari Thug can be repeatedly cast for free. When you sacrifice the Thug to Phyrexian Altar, you generate the mana you need while triggering its death ability to place itself right back on top of your library. Liliana, Dreadhorde General turns every single one of those loops into a card draw, instantly pulling the Thug back into your hand so the cycle can begin anew.
