How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Golgari Thug.
2. When Golgari Thug dies, it and Liliana trigger.
3. Resolve the Golgari Thug trigger, putting it on top of your library from your graveyard.
4. Resolve the Liliana trigger, causing you to draw Golgari Thug from the top of your library.
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1, causing target player to mill cards equal to Golgari Thug's power.
6. Cast Golgari Thug by paying 0 due to Aluren.
7. Repeat.

This ingenious loop uses Aluren to completely bypass mana costs for creatures with a mana value of 3 or less, allowing Golgari Thug to be recast for free the moment it leaves the graveyard. By feeding Golgari Thug into the Altar of Dementia, you trigger Liliana, Dreadhorde General to draw him right back to your hand whenever he dies, while simultaneously milling your opponents. This creates a perpetual engine of sacrifice and card advantage that grinds through your library and mills out the table in one fell swoop.
