How it works

1. Activate Aetherflux Resevoir by paying 50 life, targeting yourself, but instead preventing the damage and causing you to gain 51 life due to Purity.
2. Repeat an arbitrarily large number of times.
3. Activate Aetherflux Resevoir by paying 50 life, dealing 50 damage to any target.
4. Repeat step 3 as desired.

This whimsical loop creates a self-sustaining engine of immortality and explosive damage by turning Aetherflux Reservoir into a safe, life-generating machine. While Aetherflux Reservoir normally demands a heavy life payment to fire its 50-damage ability at yourself, Purity steps in to completely prevent that noncombat damage and instead converts it into life. Thanks to Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant patiently boosting every single lifegain event, that prevented damage actually nets you a surplus of life every time you cycle through the loop. Once your life total has climbed to the astronomical heights required, you can finally use Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant's activated ability to empty your entire library of creatures directly onto the battlefield, or simply point Aetherflux Reservoir's laser at your opponents to close out the game.
