How it works

1. Cast Chain Stasis by paying , targeting Codie.
2. Holding priority, activate Codie by paying 2 and tapping it, adding .
3. Resolve Chain Stasis, untapping Codie and causing you to pay 2 to copy Chain Stasis, with the copy targeting Codie.
4. Repeat from step 2.
5. Once you have an arbitrarily large number of Codie triggers, you may choose not to copy Chain Stasis and cast any instant or sorcery by paying its mana cost, reduced by the added in step 1.
6. Codie triggers for each time you activated its ability.
7. Resolve the first trigger, causing you to exile cards from the top of your library until you exile an instant or sorcery spell with lesser mana value, and allowing you to cast that spell without paying its mana cost.
8. Repeat step 6 for each remaining trigger.
9. You may also repeat this combo for each instant and sorcery card in your hand as mana permits, and on subsequent turns.

This intricate loop turns Codie, Vociferous Codex into a chaotic engine by using its own ability restriction and activated mana generation to fuel an infinite recursion. Training Grounds is the crucial enabler that makes this possible, reducing the activation cost of Codie's ability down to just {2} so you can repeatedly tap it to generate a massive reserve of {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} mana. Meanwhile, Chain Stasis targets Codie to untap it while allowing you to pay its copied casting cost to keep the cycle going. Each iteration layers another cascade trigger onto Codie, eventually letting you rifle through your library to cast a subset of spells without paying their mana costs while triggering any magecraft abilities you control infinitely.
