How it works
- Cast Selective Memory by paying 3, searching your library for all nonlands card and exiling them, then shuffle.
- Cast Risen Reef by paying 1.
- Risen Reef enters the battlefield, revealing cards from the top of your library and putting a land card onto the battlefield.
- Zendikar's Roil triggers, creating a 2/2 Elemental token.
- Repeat from step 2.
- Once you put all lands from your library onto the battlefield.
- Activate Jace's first loyalty ability by putting a loyalty counter on it, causing target player to mill two and drawing you a card.
- Jace triggers, winning you the game.
This elegant loop cleanses your deck of nonland distractions using Selective Memory, leaving your library comprised entirely of lands ready to be discovered. Once your engine is primed, casting Risen Reef sets off a perpetual motion machine: every time it or another Elemental enters, its ability triggers to check your library, while Zendikar's Roil ensures that every land dropped onto the battlefield immediately births a brand-new Elemental token to keep the chain going. With your entire library neatly deployed to the battlefield and your deck reduced to zero cards, you simply turn to Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, whose static ability turns an empty library into an instant victory when you use his first loyalty ability to draw your final card.
