How it works

1. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing Trapjaw Kelpie.
2. When Trapjaw Kelpie dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Hardened Academic triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Trapjaw Kelpie.
4. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop centers on Trapjaw Kelpie, which uses its persist ability to return to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter each time it is sacrificed to Viscera Seer. That graveyard departure immediately triggers Hardened Academic, whose static ability places a +1/+1 counter on Trapjaw Kelpie.
