How it works

1. Cast Quicksilver Gargantuan by paying its mana cost. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
2. Put Quicksilver Gargantuan into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
3. Quicksilver Gargantuan's first ability and second ability trigger, along with Rakdos Joins Up's second ability.
4. Resolve Quicksilver Gargantuan's second trigger and Rakdos Joins Up's trigger, dealing damage to target opponent.
5. Resolve Quicksilver Gargantuan's first trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This loop relies on a clever type-changing interaction driven by Opalescence, which transforms non-Aura enchantments like Rakdos Joins Up into creatures with power and toughness equal to their mana value. When you cast Quicksilver Gargantuan and have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up, Opalescence ensures the clone is also a creature, making it immediately subject to the legend rule. As the duplicate goes to the graveyard, its own abilities—and those of the original Rakdos Joins Up—trigger to deal damage. Crucially, the dying clone's triggered ability targets itself in the graveyard, allowing Rakdos Joins Up to return it right back to the battlefield with two additional +1/+1 counters to restart the cycle for infinite damage.
