How it works

1. Animate Grim Monolith using Katsumasa.
2. Activate Grim Monolith by tapping it, adding CCC.
3. Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Grim Monolith.
4. Repeat from step 2.

By enlivening Grim Monolith with Katsumasa, the Animator, we transform a dormant rock into a fully fledged artifact creature that is ready to participate in our mechanical loop. Tapping the Monolith yields three colorless mana, more than enough to fund Voltaic Construct's ability to untap our newly animated artifact creature. Because the Construct's untap cost is only two mana while the Monolith produces three, this recursive cycle loops infinitely to generate boundless colorless mana.
