How it works

1. Animate Brass Infiniscope.
2. Activate Brass Infiniscope by tapping it, adding CC and creating a delayed triggered ability.
3. Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Brass Infiniscope.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as desired.
5. Cast the spell with X in its mana cost, with X being at least 2 if you wish to gain life.
6. Each instance of Brass Infiniscope's delayed triggered ability triggers, causing you to draw a card and gain half X life, rounded down, for each trigger.

This clever loop turns Brass Infiniscope into a self-sustaining mana engine, starting by using Toymaker to animate it into an artifact creature so it can be targeted. Once it is a creature, you can tap Brass Infiniscope for two colorless mana, then spend that very mana to activate Voltaic Construct to untap it, creating an infinitely repeating cycle of free mana. Because the game tracks how many times you tapped the Infiniscope, each activation stores up a delayed trigger that waits for you to cast a spell with an {X} in its mana cost. Unleash that accumulated power on a huge X-spell, and you will draw your entire deck and reap a massive wave of life in the process!
