How it works
- Cause Vhal to become an artifact using Neurok Transmuter.
- Activate Vhal by tapping it, adding at least CCC.
- Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Vhal.
- Repeat from step 2.
By enlisting Neurok Transmuter's second ability, we can strip away creature types to turn Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher into a pure artifact—meaning Vhal is no longer burdened by the restriction of being a creature, yet remains an eligible target for Voltaic Construct. Once this transmutational trick is set, tapping Vhal generates a generous pool of colorless mana thanks to her toughness, cleanly bypassing her own hand-casting restriction to fund Voltaic Construct's untap ability. This creates a closed loop where the Construct continually resets Vhal for a net gain of mana, giving you infinite colorless mana and infinite untaps of your artifact creatures to fuel any non-hand outlet you desire in Commander, Legacy, Oathbreaker, or Vintage.
