How it works

1. Animate Five Hundred Year Diary using Workshop Elders.
2. Activate Five Hundred Year Diary by tapping it, adding for each Clue you control
3. Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Five Hundred Year Diary.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns Workshop Elders into the catalyst for an engine by using its ability to turn Five Hundred Year Diary into an artifact creature with four +1/+1 counters. Once animated, Five Hundred Year Diary can tap to generate massive blue mana based on your Clues, which is then fed right back into Voltaic Construct to untap the Diary for just two generic mana. Because Voltaic Construct targets *any* artifact creature, the Elders' static flying grant also ensures your newly minted mana engine takes to the skies while generating infinite blue mana and infinite untaps.
