How it works

1. Activate Gilded Lotus by tapping it, adding three mana of any color
2. Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Gilded Lotus.
3. Repeat

This clever loop relies on turning your mana source into an artifact creature so it can be directly untapping for profit. With March of the Machines active, Gilded Lotus loses its status as a mere passive treasure and becomes an artifact creature whose power and toughness match its mana value of six, making it a legal target for Voltaic Construct. You simply tap Gilded Lotus for three mana, then spend two of that mana to activate Voltaic Construct and untap the Lotus, netting one mana of any color with each iteration.
