How it works

1. Animate Gilded Lotus using Karn, the Great Creator.
2. Activate Gilded Lotus by tapping it, adding three mana of any color
3. Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Gilded Lotus.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop transforms a standard mana rock into an infinite engine by using Karn, the Great Creator to turn Gilded Lotus into an artifact creature via its first ability. Once it's a creature, Gilded Lotus can be tapped for three mana to comfortably pay the two-mana activation cost of Voltaic Construct, leaving you with a net profit of one mana each cycle. Meanwhile, Karn, the Great Creator quietly secures the battlefield by locking down your opponents' artifact abilities so they can't disrupt your assembly line.
