How it works

1. Cause a creature to enter the battlefield under your control.
2. Warstorm Surge triggers, dealing damage to you equal to the creature's power, with your life total not changing due to Platinum Emperion.
3. Darien triggers, creating a number of 1/1 Soldier creature tokens equal to the damage dealt to you.
4. When the Soldiers enter the battlefield, Warstorm Surge triggers that many times.
5. Resolve the first trigger, dealing 1 damage to you, with your life total not changing due to Platinum Emperion.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop turns the damage of your own battlefield into an endless assembly line of reinforcements, perfectly safeguarded by Platinum Emperion ensuring your life total can never actually change. Once you trigger Warstorm Surge with any initial creature, it strikes you for damage, which Darien, King of Kjeldor treats as an invitation to spawn an equivalent army of Soldier tokens. Because every single one of those new tokens causes Warstorm Surge to trigger anew, the loop feeds endlessly back into itself to generate infinite creature tokens and infinite creature ETB triggers.
