How it works

1. Cause a creature to enter the battlefield under your control.
2. Warstorm Surge triggers, dealing damage to you equal to the creature's power, with you being unable to lose the game due to Platinum Angel.
3. Darien triggers, creating a number of 1/1 Soldier creature tokens equal to the damage dealt to you.
4. When the Soldiers enter the battlefield, Warstorm Surge triggers that many times.
5. Resolve the first trigger, dealing 1 damage to you, with you being unable to lose the game due to Platinum Angel.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop turns self-inflicted damage into an unstoppable army, protected the entire time by Platinum Angel ensuring you simply cannot lose the game no matter how low your life total drops. Once you kick things off, Warstorm Surge redirects creature damage back at you, which Darien, King of Kjeldor gleefully translates into a squad of 1/1 Soldier tokens. Every single one of those new tokens entering the battlefield triggers Warstorm Surge all over again, sustaining a self-feeding loop that generates infinitely recurring enters-the-battlefield triggers and an endless sea of soldiers.
