How it works

1. Activate Mystic Sanctuary and Basalt Monolith by tapping them, adding CCC.
2. Cast Ghostly Flicker either from your hand or from the top of your library by paying 2, blinking Mystic Sanctuary and Basalt Monolith.
3. When Mystic Sanctuary enters untapped, it triggers, putting Ghostly Flicker from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Repeat.

This crafty loop relies on Mystic Sanctuary entering the battlefield untapped through Ghostly Flicker's exile-and-return effect, which triggers the land's ability to place Ghostly Flicker right back on top of your library. Basalt Monolith fuels the entire engine by providing the necessary mana to repeatedly cast the spell while also being targeted by the flicker alongside the land. Meanwhile, The Lunar Whale lets you look at the top of your library and—provided it attacked that turn—allows you to simply play Ghostly Flicker directly from the top, keeping the endless cycle spinning.
