How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing another creature, adding CC.
2. When the creature dies, Blade of the Bloodchief triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
3. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a 4/4 Beast creature token.
4. Repeat.

This loop transforms a simple sacrifice into an engine of exponential growth, anchored by Ashnod's Altar providing the mana needed to keep the cycle going. As you feed creatures to the Altar, Blade of the Bloodchief turns every death into a +1/+1 counter distributed to the equipped creature. That single counter is all it takes to awaken Herd Baloth's trigger, instantly bringing a fresh 4/4 Beast token into play to be sacrificed right back to the Altar.
