How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing another creature, adding 1.
2. When the creature dies, Blade of the Bloodchief triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Thopter Squadron.
3. Activate Thopter Squadron' first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Thopter artifact creature token.
4. Repeat.

This charmingly mechanical loop turns Thopter Squadron's self-contained counters into a closed-circuit engine, using Phyrexian Altar to turn its spawned tokens right back into the mana needed to keep going. As you sacrifice those tokens, Blade of the Bloodchief steps in to replenish Thopter Squadron's counter supply with interest, ensuring the flying machine never runs out of fuel. Because the Altar converts each sacrificed token into the exact mana required to hatch a replacement, the whole assembly feeds into itself seamlessly for infinite deaths, entries, and sacrifices.
