How it works

1. Activate Axebane Guardian by tapping it, adding at least
2. Activate Axebane Guardian by paying 2, untapping it.
3. Repeat.

By outfitting Axebane Guardian with Gauntlets of Light, you transform the humble defender into a self-sustaining mana engine. Because Gauntlets of Light grants the enchanted creature an untap ability for just two mana, and Axebane Guardian taps to produce mana scaling with your defenders, the math quickly swings in your favor once you control enough creatures with defender to generate a net profit on each loop. As an added bonus, Gauntlets of Light even lets Axebane Guardian assign its combat damage using its high toughness, giving your combo piece a surprising amount of defensive bite while it pumps out infinite colored mana.
