How it works

1. Maralen prevents players from drawing, but allows tutors, Mindlock Orb prevents players from tutoring

This brutal lock utilizes Maralen of the Mornsong to completely replace every player's normal draw step with a life loss and a mandatory library search instead. However, the addition of Mindlock Orb shuts down that search entirely, thanks to its static prohibition against searching libraries. Because Maralen of the Mornsong also stops players from drawing cards in the first place, opponents are left completely unable to draw or tutor for any answers, trapping them in a total resource blackout.
