How it works

1. Activate Rowan by tapping it, reducing the cost of all black and/or red spells you cast this turn by at least 4.
2. Cast Ancestral Statue by paying 0 due to Rowan's ability.
3. When Ancestral Statue enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning itself to your hand from the battlefield.
4. Repeat from step 2.

To pull off this explosive loop, **Rowan, Scion of War** must first be tapped after you've lost a significant amount of life this turn, granting a massive cost reduction to your black and red spells. This is where **Painter's Servant** comes in as the engine's quiet enabler, painting every card outside the battlefield, every spell, and every permanent black (or red) in addition to their actual colors so that artifact creatures like **Ancestral Statue** qualify for Rowan's discount. With its cost reduced to zero, you cast **Ancestral Statue** for free, triggering its entry ability to bounce itself right back to your hand so you can recast it endlessly. This creates an infinite loop of creature entries, leaves, and storm count that can easily finish off the table.
