How it works

1. Cast Ancestral Statue by paying 4
2. Oltec Matterweaver triggers, creating two 1/1 Gnome artifact creature tokens.
3. When Ancestral Statue enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning itself from the battlefield to your hand.
4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Gnomes, adding CCCC.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around the synergy between Ancestral Statue and Oltec Matterweaver: whenever you cast the Statue, Oltec Matterweaver's ability triggers to flood your board with Gnomes. Thanks to Primal Vigor doubling every token created, that single cast yields a double batch of Gnomes to feed directly into Ashnod's Altar. Sacrificing those Gnomes to Ashnod's Altar generates more than enough colorless mana to recast Ancestral Statue, which conveniently bounces itself back to your hand upon entering the battlefield to restart the process.
