How it works

1. Cast Ancestral Statue by paying 4.
2. Alela triggers, creating a 1/1 Faerie creature token.
3. When the Faerie enters the battlefield, Cathars' Crusade triggers twice, putting two +1/+1 counters on each creature you control.
4. When Ancestral Statue enters the battlefield, it and Cathars' Crusade trigger twice.
5. Resolve the Ancestral Statue triggers, returning it and the Faerie from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Cathars' Crusade triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on each creature you control.
7. Activate Workhorse four times by removing four +1/+1 counters from it, adding CCCC.
8. Repeat.

This loop relies on a brilliant feedback loop between self-bouncing creatures and permanent pump effects, supercharged by Panharmonicon doubling all of your entry triggers. When you cast Ancestral Statue, Alela, Artful Provocateur provides a Faerie token that triggers Cathars' Crusade twice, while Panharmonicon ensures the Statue's own bounce ability triggers multiple times to return both the Statue and the token to your hand. Meanwhile, Workhorse sits on the board absorbing the endless wave of +1/+1 counters from Cathars' Crusade, allowing you to continually strip those counters away for mana to recast the Ancestral Statue and keep the chain going indefinitely.
