How it works

2. Ancestral Statue enters the battlefield, returning itself from the battlefield to your hand.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms a humble construct into a self-sustaining engine by letting Mycosynth Golem do the heavy lifting with its passive cost-reduction. Because Mycosynth Golem grants artifact creature spells affinity for artifacts, the heavy mana cost of Ancestral Statue is completely mitigated once you have enough artifacts in play to reduce it to zero. When Ancestral Statue hits the battlefield, its triggered ability forces you to return a nonland permanent to your hand—and since it targets itself, it happily scoops itself right back up for another round. This seamless self-bounce creates an infinite loop of creature entries, leaves, and storm count without ever draining your mana pool.
