How it works

1. Cast Ancestral Statue by paying 4.
2. When Ancestral Statue enters the battlefield, it and Trostani trigger.
3. Resolve the Ancestral Statue trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
4. Resolve the Trostani triggers, causing you to gain life equal to Ancestral Statue's toughness.
5. Crystalline Crawler triggers, putting four +1/+1 counters on itself.
6. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability four times by removing four +1/+1 counters from it, adding 4.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop starts when you cast Ancestral Statue, whose entry triggers Trostani, Selesnya's Voice to reward you with life based on the Statue's toughness. Thanks to Light of Promise enchanting Crystalline Crawler, that sudden lifegain transforms directly into a flurry of +1/+1 counters on the Crawler. You can then immediately cash in those counters using Crystalline Crawler's mana ability to generate the exact {4} needed to recast Ancestral Statue, while the Statue's own entering trigger bounces itself right back to your hand to keep the cycle turning endlessly.
