Ancestral Statue

How it works

1. Cast the additional creature by paying its mana cost.
2. Volo triggers, copying the creature spell.
3. Resolve both creature spells.
4. Activate Food Chain by exiling the creature token, adding at least one mana of any color that can only be spent to cast creature spells.
5. Cast Ancestral Statue by paying 4.
6. Volo triggers, copying Ancestral Statue.
7. Resolve the copy of the Ancestral Statue spell.
8. When the token Ancestral Statue enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning a nontoken creature from the battlefield to your hand.
9. Activate Food Chain by exiling the Ancestral Statue token, adding five mana of any color that can only be spent to cast creature spells.
10. Resolve the original Ancestral Statue spell cast in step 5.
11. When the nontoken Ancestral Statue enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning itself from the battlefield to your hand.
12. Repeat.
