How it works

  1. Activate Ornery Tumblewagg's saddle ability by tapping Crystalline Crawler, causing Ornery Tumblewagg to become saddled until end of turn.
  2. At the beginning of your combat phase, Ornery Tumblewagg's first ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Crystalline Crawler.
  3. Declare Ornery Tumblewagg and Najeela, if desired, as an attacker.
  4. Ornery Tumblewagg's second ability triggers, doubling the number of +1/+1 counters on Crystalline Crawler.
  5. If Najeela was declared as an attacker, it triggers, creating a 1/1 Warrior creature token that is tapped and attacking.
  6. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability five times by removing five +1/+1 counters from it, adding W manaU manaB manaR manaG mana.
  7. Activate Najeela by paying W manaU manaB manaR manaG mana, untapping all attacking creatures, giving them trample, lifelink and haste, and gaining an additional combat phase after this one.
  8. Repeat from step 2.
  9. If Crystalline Crawler begins the combo with four or more +1/+1 counters, this combo will net infinite +1/+1 counters on it and colored mana, which will allow you to target any other creature(s) using Ornery Tumblewagg's triggers.

This clever loop turns Ornery Tumblewagg into a magnificent counter-multiplier, saddling it by tapping Crystalline Crawler to kick things off. As combat begins, Ornery Tumblewagg places a counter on Crystalline Crawler, and when they swing together, its attack trigger doubles those counters exponentially. Meanwhile, Najeela, the Blade-Blossom rewards your attacking Warriors by spitting out tapped and attacking tokens, while conveniently offering an activated ability to untap your attackers and grant another combat phase. By stripping the accumulated counters off Crystalline Crawler for mana, you easily fund Najeela, the Blade-Blossom's five-color cost to untap everything and repeat the whole explosive process indefinitely.
