How it works

  1. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Strangleroot Geist

  3. Resolve the Phantom Train ability.
  4. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Strangleroot Geist
  5. When Strangleroot Geist dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
  6. Strangleroot Geist enters and dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness. Its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
  7. Resolve the Phantom Train ability from step 4.
  8. Repeat from step 4.
