How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Yosei.
2. When Yosei dies, it and Gift of Immortality trigger.
3. Resolve the Yosei trigger, causing the next player in turn order to skip their next untap step.
4. Resolve the Gift of Immortality trigger, returning Yosei from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
6. At the beginning of the end step, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Yosei.
7. Repeat during each turn unless you are the next player in turn order.

This elegant loop achieves a devastating permanent lock by continuously sacrificing and recurring Yosei, the Morning Star using the sacrifice outlet Carrion Feeder. The linchpin of the strategy is Gift of Immortality, which ensures Yosei immediately returns to the battlefield upon death while seamlessly looping itself back onto the Morning Star at the end step. Each time Yosei hits the graveyard, its triggered ability forces your unfortunate opponent to skip their untap step and locks down up to five of their permanents, rendering them completely helpless for the rest of the game.
