Goblin Bombardment

How it works

1. Activate Goblin Bombardment by sacrificing Yosei.
2. When Yosei dies, it and Gift of Immortality trigger.
3. Resolve the Yosei trigger, causing the next player in turn order to skip their next untap step.
4. Resolve the Gift of Immortality trigger, returning Yosei from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Goblin Bombardment ability.
6. At the beginning of the end step, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Yosei.
7. Repeat during each turn unless you are the next player in turn order.

This brutal loop locks your opponents completely out of the game by wedding the sacrifice outlet of Goblin Bombardment to the recursive protection of Gift of Immortality. Whenever you send Yosei, the Morning Star to the graveyard to fuel the Bombardment, its death trigger locks down up to five of that player's permanents and forces them to skip their next untap step. Because Gift of Immortality constantly brings Yosei right back to the battlefield—and conveniently returns itself to the creature at the end of the step—you can repeat this harrowing cycle on demand. The result is a total permanent lock that leaves your adversaries unable to untap, attack, or defend.
