How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Yosei.
2. When Yosei dies, it and Gift of Immortality trigger.
3. Resolve the Yosei trigger, causing the next player in turn order to skip their next untap step.
4. Resolve the Gift of Immortality trigger, returning Yosei from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
6. At the beginning of the end step, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Yosei.
7. Repeat during each turn unless you are the next player in turn order.

This elegant death-loop locks your opponents out of the game entirely by weaponizing Yosei, the Morning Star's triggered ability to perpetually tap down their permanents and force them to skip their untap steps. Shilgengar, Sire of Famine acts as the essential sacrifice outlet to cleanly send Yosei to the graveyard on demand while generating Blood tokens along the way. Meanwhile, Gift of Immortality provides the recursive engine, constantly bringing Yosei back to the battlefield and looping itself back onto the Morning Star to ensure the lockdown can repeat turn after turn.
