How it works

1. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Yosei.
2. When Yosei dies, it and Gift of Immortality trigger.
3. Resolve the Yosei trigger, causing the next player in turn order to skip their next untap step.
4. Resolve the Gift of Immortality trigger, returning Yosei from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Phantom Train ability.
6. At the beginning of the end step, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Yosei.
7. Repeat during each turn unless you are the next player in turn order.

This sinister lock centers around looping Yosei, the Morning Star using the continuous recursion provided by Gift of Immortality. By utilizing Phantom Train as a convenient sacrifice outlet, you send Yosei to the graveyard on demand, triggering its death ability to permanently lock down a target player's mana and permanents. Because Gift of Immortality continuously returns both Yosei and itself to the battlefield turn after turn, you can repeat this process indefinitely during each turn to ensure your opponents never untap again.
