How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Yosei.
2. When Yosei dies, it and Gift of Immortality trigger.
3. Resolve the Yosei trigger, causing the next player in turn order to skip their next untap step.
4. Resolve the Gift of Immortality trigger, returning Yosei from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability.
6. At the beginning of the end step, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Yosei.
7. Repeat during each turn unless you are the next player in turn order.

This elegant loop locks an opponent entirely out of untapping their permanents while keeping them pinned under Yosei, the Morning Star's devastating death trigger. By using Umbral Collar Zealot as the sac outlet, you immediately send Yosei to the graveyard to trigger its lockdown ability, while Gift of Immortality steps in to effortlessly return Yosei straight to the battlefield. Because Gift of Immortality also returns itself to the battlefield attached to Yosei during the end step, the entire cycle resets every single turn.
